The free report Patterns for Signup and Ramp up from the good folk at Adaptive Path is excellent and well worth a read.
It’s very relevant to my current project but I think will be a great reference for any web designer or site stakeholder.
Thanks to Adaptive Path for making the resource available and to Brett for putting it on my radar.
I recently worked on a send to mobile feature for Yellow which tonight went live.
It was a nice project to be on and although it’s not exactly how I would have liked it (what is?), it’s one of the few pieces of work at Sensis that I am proud to say I worked on.
Go check it out and let me know what you think! And keep a look out for the same feature soon to be on the amazing and shiny new Whereis website.
Being online more hours than I sleep, I find I fill out a lot of online forms, so when I come across a good one it tends to stand out. Also having a friend who specialises in forms design makes me more aware of the value of a well designed form as well as the difficulties involved in getting the design right. So when I signed up for a new “naked” ADSL2 account yesterday at Internode and found their online form to be well designed and a pleasant experience, it was all I needed to be convinced they were my next ISP.
I went into the application process really unsure of whether I wanted to go ahead with it at the moment, but I was so impressed with the application process that I went ahead with the order there and then. All the questions I had leading into the application were answered along the way and I felt empowered and in control on the whole experience. The best part for me though was that the information they gave me was timely, relevant and chunked up beautifully for me.
Other points to note were that the form:
- Didn’t make me fill in the same data twice (which happens often),
- Didn’t ask me irrelevant questions (i.e it appeared to remove questions based on my previous answers), and
- I knew where I was in the process throughout.
Maybe this is part of the reason they have been voted the number one ISP on Whirlpool and let’s hope it is a sign of a good relationship between us.
